Resources

For the Dads

Although many of the resources listed in this guide can absolutely provide support and comfort to dads as well, there are also some really great dad-specific options available. It is not uncommon for men and women to grieve quite differently, and although everyone’s experience is individual, there are some common difficulties that are unique to the partner experience. These can lead men to feel misunderstood and isolated in their grief while also having less access to important supports and services.

The below resources are geared towards helping men reach out and tap into their grief, instead of avoiding it. Knowing there are other fathers out there trying to navigate the same challenges can be incredibly validating. Our culture permeates the idea that men need to be strong all the time, but strong does not need to mean avoidant, stoic or dismissive towards your feelings. Sometimes being strong is allowing yourself the kindness to grieve and feel.
